Goodman Family

Herb Goodman
Today would have been his one hundredth birthday. He was my maternal uncle and we lived together in Brooklyn in a four flat brown stone until I was seven. He was an alternate father he being about 17 to 24 until he went into the Navy during world war two. We played Stoopball, catch and in later years baseball and basketball. He was a combination big brother father“ and advisor He was always there when I needed him. He flew up to college when I was involved with a girlfriend that my parents rejected. He backed me when I decided to go to medical school and only had money for one year and had the disapproval of my parents. Those are difficult times. His only child Joan link is a treasure. She had three children in the space of two years the twin girls are just graduating and everybody is doing great. Herb would’ve been very very proud of this family. I look forward to graduation of Alana this weekend having completed the first part of her physical therapy degree. I am marking the occasion by giving the family my Audi convertible which the three young adults will certainly enjoy. I miss him.
