Christmas Letter 2015
2015 was a wonderful, nautical year with three major boat trips: we boarded the beautiful square rigor capital S see cloud yacht in Barbados for Karen's birthday in January. A truly luxurious boat with us superb food excellent staff and unusual amenities: Karen's cabin included a fireplace and a marble top. While the way our Florida condo association selected Karen as president ensuring a busy year for 2016.
We returned to Connecticut in May to a significantly iced damaged riverfront property. This Jerry busy for most of summer repairing docs replacing pilings and tenants. He did get out a few times on our sailboat and some golfing with friends but our major boating experience were worked to boat trips. In July we took up crews circumnavigating Lake Michigan from and back to Chicago. This enabled us to visit son David and his two wonderful children. In August we flew to Greenland via Ottawa to board a Russian Arctic research vessel in Greenland. Plowing through the Northwest passage parentheses C card) we were the first ship to make the transit that year along with fascinating group of international adventurers. Along the way we encountered glaciers icebergs, whales, polar bears, musk oxen, seals and Eskimos. We visited the recently discovered wreck of the Franklin expedition of the 1850s. After some uncertainty in the ice we arrived at Cambridge Bay in northern Canada for a chartered flight back to civilization via Edmonton.
Fall foliage attracted the entire family to Sarah's farm in western Massachusetts. We enjoyed our only family reunion of the year. For Thanksgiving we returned to Florida to celebrate with Karen's dad and acknowledge our good fortune and gratitude.
We are grateful for our good health and fortune and plan a reunion that in the Florida keys first Karen's 70th birthday and a trip to Colorado
